Wellcee on Post-Holiday Rental Demand
Following the end of the Spring Festival holiday, many cities have gradually entered a new wave of returning workers and seasonal job seekers, bringing the rental market into a period of heightened activity.
Industry observers generally note that post-holiday market activity follows a clear seasonal pattern. On the one hand, people returning to cities for work typically finalize employment arrangements after the holiday, driving a release of short-term rental demand. On the other hand, some renters choose the start of a new year to adjust their living arrangements, whether by relocating to a different area or changing shared-housing setups, leading to a concentrated wave of lease changes.

Against this backdrop, the pace of renter decision-making has also accelerated. Compared with the relatively moderate rental cycle at year-end, the post-holiday peak places greater emphasis on efficiency and certainty. Renters are paying closer attention to whether listing information is clear, whether communication is smooth, and whether the leasing process can be completed within a short timeframe.
Direct rental platform Wellcee, for example, has so far reached 30 million registered users and now operates in 30 cities. According to the platform, user inquiries have become more active in the post-holiday period, with demand for shared housing and cross-city rentals showing signs of concentration. Industry observers say that reducing intermediary steps and improving communication efficiency are becoming priority considerations for some renters.
From a broader industry perspective, the post-holiday pickup is seen more as a temporary concentration of demand than a significant shift in overall market fundamentals. As the spring job-search season continues to unfold, the rental market is expected to maintain a pattern of short-term activity alongside overall stability.
