BREAKING: China to resume tourist visas for first time since 2020

3月13、14日，中国驻多国使馆发布通知，将进一步调整外国人赴华签证及入境政策。美国、法国、加拿大、新西兰、阿根廷、泰国、巴拿马、秘鲁等国陆续发布政策调整通知，外交部领事司也就此作出积极响应；中外人员往来将进一步便利化。在疫情阴霾逐日消融的今天，Wellcee与大家一起，终于迎来了这个好消息。

We have some amazing news to share with you! China says it will start issuing all categories of visas to foreigners from Wednesday, March 15, 2023.

China will start reissuing all categories of visas to foreigners from Wednesday, dropping the final cross-border control measure it imposed three years ago to guard against the spread of COVID-19.

This means that friends from many countries, including the US, France, Canada, New Zealand, Argentina, Thailand, Panama and Peru etc. can now apply for a range of visas to visit China. The Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs has also responded positively to this change.

为进一步便利中外人员往来，决定自北京时间2023年3月15日零时起，就外国人来华签证及入境政策作如下调整：

一、恢复2020年3月28日前签发且仍在有效期内的签证入境功能。

二、驻外签证机关恢复审发外国人各类赴华签证。

三、口岸签证机关恢复审发符合法定事由的各类口岸签证。

四、恢复海南入境免签、上海邮轮免签、港澳地区外国人组团入境广东免签、东盟旅游团入境广西桂林免签政策。

If your visa was issued before March 28(th) 2020 and still remains valid now, you can once again enter China with it.

If you are to apply for a new visa, China is restarting its visa-issuing service.

Areas in China that required no visas before the pandemic will revert to visa-free entry, the foreign ministry said on Tuesday. This will include the southern tourist island of Hainan and cruise ships passing through Shanghai port. Visa-free entry to the southern manufacturing hub of Guangdong for foreigners from Hong Kong and Macau will also resume.
